NPV is seeking an experienced, initiative-taking, and energetic Ecological Designer/Project Manager to work in our Melville office on Long Island to support our work with numerous municipal and private clients in a wide range of creative projects. This is a mid-level position with opportunities for advancement and to have positive impact and change on the built environment as well as to work closely with multidisciplinary team members.
The full range of potential projects that this candidate will lead and manage is very diverse from master planning, green infrastructure site design and ecological rehabilitation and restoration for a full realm of public and private sector clients that have a creative, positive impact on our environment.
Key Skills & Expertise
• Deep passion and knowledge for design conception, development, and execution of related work products.
• Project management experience to successfully manage clients, teams, budgets, and schedules, on concurrent projects of a diverse nature.
• Solid proficiency in digital communication for both conceptual and construction documentation for a variety of project types and for a diverse range of clients.
• Field inventory and analysis as well as construction management knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications
• Degree in landscape architecture or other equivalent degree or experience.
• 5-7 years of experience working in a professional capacity providing the relevant experience, managing/leading projects of various scales and complexity with proficiency in digital design software.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel. SketchUp Rhino and Lumeon or other 3D experience is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Experience managing projects of various scales from master planning through construction implementation.
• Project development experience, including public engagement, design, construction detailing, specification writing, and construction administration.
• Excellent graphics, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Planting design proficiency and knowledge of planting materials and techniques.
